CANADIAN OPEN: Day 1 Cancelled


Due to high wind activity forecasted as high as 17 knots (31 km) with gusts as high as 24 knots (44 km) with an average of 20 knots (37 km) out of the Northwest shifting to North. With all information at hand Andrew Pallotta, Tournament Director of the Canadian Open of Fishing has decided that it is unsafe and has canceled the first day of the Canadian Open.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety of our anglers is of the upmost importance.


Please keep in mind the water remains off limits, no competing anglers are permitted on Lake Simcoe or Couchiching today, Friday, July 6.
